Days of British Raj

One of the best thing I like about British period is that they planted trees at the side of every main road of the country. In hot weather, tree shade is a big blessing for the people walking. Even, I remember, National highway was almost covered with tree shades from Hyderabad to Hala until late 80's. The whole journey from Hyderabad to Hala used to be quite comfortable even without air-conditioner in car or bus.

I really don't understand why our governments don't plant trees at the side of main road and streets any more. One of the excuse I heard that the trees, when grow taller, break the electricity wires. This must be true to some extend but there must be some solution to this problem so that we could have trees on the streets and people can have some comfort walk in hot weather days and we can also have less air pollution. I am not saying this for my comfortable because, Alhamdulillah, I always traveled in my own car since I was born.

I would like to request to our government to work on it and plant trees.
